In Conversation with Artist Closeup

In Conversation with Artist Closeup

Pictureof Amanda Green the maker & designer

I was recently invited to take part in a written interview with Artist Closeup, a platform that highlights artists and makers from around the world.

The conversation gave me a chance to pause and reflect on my journey — from studying knitwear and working in the fashion industry, to returning to making with my hands through jewelry. We spoke about process, intuition, and the quieter rhythm of working at the bench, as well as how landscape, memory, and time continue to influence my work here in British Columbia.

Landscape has always shaped the way I see and make. The slow erosion of stone, the movement of water, and the feeling of place all find their way into my jewelry — often subtly, sometimes unconsciously.

Jewelry, for me, is not just an adornment, but something lived with — worn, held, and passed on.
