Meet the Maker: Sara of Steaped Slow Ceramics

Over the past year, I’ve started intentionally introducing other small businesses and makers I’ve met along the way — sharing their work with my community, and in turn introducing my work to theirs. It’s a small, meaningful way for all of us to grow, and a way for you to discover beautiful pieces that are thoughtfully made, handcrafted, and created with care.
One of those makers is my friend Sara, the ceramic artist behind Steaped Slow Ceramics.
Sara’s work grew from a desire to step away from digital burnout and return to working with her hands. Through clay, she creates small-batch pottery designed for everyday rituals — pieces that invite pause, presence, and calm into daily life. Her forms are minimalist and Nordic-inspired, timeless rather than trend-led, and made slowly in Ontario.
What I love most is how considered everything feels. From beautifully nesting pantry bowls to thoughtfully designed travel mugs that sit comfortably in the hand, each piece balances function with quiet beauty. These are objects meant to be used daily, to age well, and to become part of your routine rather than something kept aside.

If you’re drawn to honest materials, timeless design, and objects that support a slower way of living, I truly think you’ll love Sara’s work.
As a small thank-you, Sara is offering 15% off for the next 7 days when you sign up for her newsletter.
